<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">I am pleased to announce that the application is officially open for the 2019 Graduate Student Summer Internship Program between the Joint Genome Institute (JGI) and UC Merced.</p>

<p style="margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0">As many of you may know, the structure of the 2019 program will be slightly different. Because JGI is relocating this summer, graduate students will be hosted at UC Merced's campus. Graduate interns will have daily virtual
meetings with JGI mentors and have a local UC Merced mentor as well. JGI scientists will also visit UC Merced's campus several times during the 10-Week Summer Program.</p>
