of close relatives, e.g., many congeners, lies at the nexus where
evolutionary processes like speciation and ecological challenges like
competition affect local coexistence. These processes are especially
strong in close relatives, owing to recent speciation history and shared
ecological and physical similarity. Here, I explore mechanisms
influencing coexistence in California plant communities, including trait
evolution, reproductive interference and competition/facilitation.<br><br></span><br><span class="gmail-aZo gmail-a5r gmail-aZp"><a id="gmail-:20e" target="_blank" class="gmail-aQy gmail-aZr gmail-e gmail-aZI" href="https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=7e2cdff230&view=att&th=162ab5ff2932f22e&attid=0.1&disp=safe&realattid=f_jfshnx480&zw" tabindex="0"><span class="gmail-a3I" id="gmail-:1yc">Preview attachment me n darwin on Galapagos.jpg</span><div><div class="gmail-aSH"><img class="gmail-aQG gmail-aYB" id="gmail-:20f" src="https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ui=2&ik=7e2cdff230&view=fimg&th=162ab5ff2932f22e&attid=0.1&disp=thd&realattid=f_jfshnx480&attbid=ANGjdJ-FLJO4_6P3YQM_1Bah9O1deixR-XAU6zL76e2mBvavF7gH2s_OTVAahfvaL3EKC8SAEMoNbA05Mi2Z0faBkNOzhlI3nksL0dEEYdKd-sSzM_16R3TqceOAgZo&sz=w360-h240-p-nu&ats=1524319223722&rm=162ab5ff2932f22e&zw" style="margin: auto; top: 0px; right: 0px; bottom: 0px; left: 0px; max-width: 100%; max-height: 100%;"><div id="gmail-:20h" class="gmail-aYv" style="display:none"><img class="gmail-aYw gmail-aZy" src="https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/cleardot.gif"></div><div id="gmail-:1yd" class="gmail-aYy"><div class="gmail-aYA"><img id="gmail-:20j" class="gmail-aSM" src="https://ssl.gstatic.com/docs/doclist/images/mediatype/icon_1_image_x32.png" title="Image"></div><div class="gmail-aYz"><div class="gmail-a12"><div class="gmail-aQA"><span class="gmail-aV3 gmail-a6U" id="gmail-:20i">me n darwin on Galapagos.jpg</span></div><div class="gmail-aYp"><span id="gmail-:20k" class="gmail-SaH2Ve">1.1 MB</span></div></div></div></div></div></div></a></span><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><br></span><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"></span></div></div><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">I will be hosting a potluck for Sharon at our house in Mariposa Friday evening.
