Graduate Education. Please encourage first-year doctoral students in your program who are interested in computational sciences, broadly defined, to come to our Open House on November 7, 2017, especially if they are domestic students who are members of groups
underrepresented in their fields or first-generation students.<u></u><u></u></span></p>

<p class="m_8267140202789713341MsoPlainText" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif">Varying levels of knowledge about computational research are fine. In addition to programming lessons in several languages, we will focus on skills and
resources that will help students to thrive in graduate school, on project management and team work (skills industry often finds lacking in those coming out of the academy), and engage them in interdisciplinary teams to explore real world computational problems.
This course is led by Graduate Dean Marjorie Zatz, SoE Associate Dean Paul Maglio, and Professors Michael Spivey, Michael Colvin, Sayantani Ghosh, Arnold Kim, Ashlie Martini, Suzanne Sindi, and Mukesh Singhal, and supported by an advisory board from the National
Laboratories and industry.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
