<p class="MsoNormal">It was a pleasure to speak with you at the SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference in Salt Lake City last week. As a reminder of our discussion, we are currently seeking nominations of students to be considered for either the 17th
annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital National Graduate Student Symposium (NGSS), or 4th annual Future Fellow Research Conference (FFRC). These exceptional academic and professional development opportunities for PhD students will be held March 26-30,
and June 5-7, 2018, respectively on the St. Jude campus in Memphis, TN. <br>
<br>
The NGSS and FFRC are all-expenses-paid symposia to which top PhD students from around the country are invited to participate. To be eligible, students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, with an estimated graduation between March 2018 and July 2019.
Preference will be given to students whose work is relevant to ongoing research at St. Jude. Information about our research programs is available at

These symposia are not advertised; thus, students can apply only if they are nominated by a faculty advisor. To nominate students for both events, please forward names, graduation dates, and student email addresses to me (<a href="mailto:deanna.tremblay@stjude.org" target="_blank">deanna.tremblay@stjude.org</a>)
no later than November 3, 2017. Please also consider forwarding this information to your Graduate Program Directors or other faculty members who may wish to nominate outstanding students. Nomination of exceptional under-represented minority students is encouraged.<br>

Invitations to apply will be sent to nominated students at the beginning of November, and completed applications must be received by 12:00 noon Central Time on November 27, 2017. A committee of St. Jude faculty members will review applications and select students
who will be invited to attend either symposium. Those selected will be notified by the end of January, 2018.
