Dear Graduate Group Chairs,

We are pleased to call for nominations for the SNS Distinguished Scholars
Fellowship for Spring 2018 due *Friday, October 27, 2017*.  Please see
attached guidelines.

We are seeking nominations from each Graduate Group and anticipate that
three fellowships will be awarded.

Graduate Groups are expected to meet internally and select their top
candidates. A maximum of two nominations per grad group is permitted.

Application and Nomination Procedures



·        Each graduate group may nominate up to two students.

·        Nomination packages should include: 1) a one-page personal
statement written by the student that speaks to how this award will help
them achieve their research/educational goals, 2) a letter of support from
a UCM faculty member, 3) unofficial UCM transcripts, and 4) a note of
endorsement from the Graduate Group Chair.

·        *Please email nomination packages to Rita Guel (rguel at ucmerced.edu
<rguel at ucmerced.edu>) by Friday, October 27, 2017. Nominations received by
the deadline will be conveyed to the Executive Committee, who will
recommend candidates to the Dean. *
