 .03442.pdf\n\nThis is an excellent paper.  I’m convinced that sector cou
 pling is going to be key in the energy transition – we won’t be able t
 o electrify everything in the next 20 years – it will be easier to trans
 ition many of the applications to using hydrogen.  You might think this is
  unrelated to the grid\, but it actually makes a huge difference for the g
 rid if you can run electrolyzers at < 100% capacity factors. Then electrol
 ysis allows overbuild of solar and wind without nearly as much curtailment
  (there will still be some curtailment). Using the hydrogen to generate el
 ectricity later on isn’t so useful because of the low efficiency\, but c
 urrently the power sector only represents and 1/3 of total energy\, so the
 re is potential to use a LOT of hydrogen. I hope you’ll have a chance to
  look at the paper before we meet tomorrow.\n\n\nAs discussed\, the plan w
 ill be to ask everyone who wants to participate to sign up for presenting
