<span style="font-size: 14pt;">To honor Dr. Inez Beverly Prosser’s legacy, serve as a mechanism to empower women of color to complete their educational journey and pursue an advanced degree in psychology, and take a step toward supporting representation and
impact of women of color in psychology, this scholarship will help defray the direct educational costs (e.g., tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks) of the recipient.</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 14pt;">Dr. Inez Beverly Prosser (1895-1934) is considered to be the first African American woman to receive a PhD in psychology. Her dissertation research was related to the personality characteristics of African American children in
