<p class="MsoNormal">The <a href="https://www.cdrewu.edu/community/cdu-pathways-and-school-partnership-programs/cdu-health-careers-opportunity-program-hcop/">
Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) Summer Institute</a> is a free 6-week Pre-Health Summer Institute to help educationally and economically disadvantaged students successfully enter health professions like medicine and public health.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">CDU is currently accepting applications for our 3<sup>rd</sup> cohort of the Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) Summer Institute. The Summer Institute is a supportive 6-week
summer program that provides students interested in pursuing a health career in medicine (pre-med or pre-PA) with the skills and resources to strengthen their preparedness for entering the medical profession.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><b>Some highlights of the Summer Institute are:<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">- Case management including career navigation<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">- Workshops in health disparities, health policy, mental health, imposter syndrome, and other skills to thrive in health professional school<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">- Medical and Physician Assistant (PA) school application/admission support through interaction with CDU College of Medicine, PA, and community psychology programs<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">- Mentorship and professional development with experienced health professionals<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">- Exposure to clinical skills, virtual case studies and alternative approaches to trauma care<o:p></o:p></p>
