<p class="MsoNormal">The AltaMed Scholars Summer Program is a six-week, pre-health/pre-medicine summer program in Los Angeles.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Participants will attend workshops on health equity, gain clinical skills, and engage in research activities that focus<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">on serving medically underserved communities.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Eligibility:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Community college student, current undergraduate student, recent college/university graduate, or<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">postbaccalaureate student pursuing a health career. Those pursuing an LVN, RN, BSN or NP are NOT eligible.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Come from an economically and/or educationally disadvantaged background.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Be a U.S. citizen, a legal permanent resident, or DACA recipient (DACA recipients are funded by<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">AltaMed Health Services).<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">AltaMed is currently in the application process and wanted to ensure that our students were aware of this exciting opportunity, particularly those who may have a home base or relatives in Southern California. This six-week immersive program
offers clinical exposure, health equity education, and academic mentorship. They are committed to our partnership and have reserved spots for interested students. The application deadline is <b>Sunday, February 23, 2025.<o:p></o:p></b></p>
