Gain 10 weeks of experiential learning, grow professionally through a comprehensive professional development curriculum, build a community with health and pre-health professionals and receive one-on-one mentorship support.

ELIGIBILITY
Health Career Connection (HCC) attracts talented, undergraduates, and recent college graduates who have a demonstrated commitment to public health, behavioral health, and/or improving access and outcomes in the health industry. Informed by our proven model, HCC offers talented undergraduate and recent college graduates a comprehensive paid summer internship program that provides invaluable exposure, experience, mentoring, and networking in the health field. The HCC program includes:

  *   Experiential Learning Interns are placed in paid, full-time summer internships to gain valuable hands-on experience, contribute to meaningful projects<https://www.healthcareers.org/internship-project-examples/>, and hone their professional skills. This is an educational experience designed to complement students' academic learning and empower students to succeed in and complete college.
  *   Professional Development HCC educates interns on key health topics such as health advocacy, cultural humility and competency, and career development topics, including life and career planning, graduate school preparation, professional networking, and leadership. Interns also develop strong professional skills such as Excel, project management, working in teams, and data analysis.
  *   Mentorship HCC's apprenticeship model pairs each intern to a dedicated preceptor and facilitates intern connections to other mentors and our extensive network of partners<https://www.healthcareers.org/partners/>. Interns also receive mentorship from the HCC team<https://www.healthcareers.org/about-us/team/>.
  *   Peer Support and Network HCC fosters a supportive community among interns within and across regions who share similar interests, passions and career decision dilemmas. Interns are also connected with HCC's 5000+ alumni network<https://www.healthcareers.org/alumni/alumni-network/> as well as HCC's partners<https://www.healthcareers.org/partners/> from schools of public health and medicine.
  *   Exposure and Exploration Interns learn about the inner workings of health organizations and gain broader perspectives on the health field and career options through internship placement, networking events, site tours, and career exploration workshops.
