Greetings Pre-Health Students,

UC Davis Summer Abroad is currently accepting enrollments for our 2018 summer and fall quarter programs and internships (over 40 programs in 28 different countries<http://studyabroad.ucdavis.edu/programs/summerabroad/index.html> to choose from!)  Below are biological sciences programs and Global health internships that might be of particular interest to you.  Programs offer 6-8 units, over 4-5 weeks this summer, depending on program.


  *   Open to all UCM students (freshman through graduating seniors)
  *   UCM summer financial aid applies
  *   UC Davis courses, led by UC Davis faculty
  *   Courses taught in English
Note: UC Merced students should meet with a financial aid advisor to determine summer aid eligibility. Students can request a ninth unit of 199 to help qualify for summer aid.

Locations: Hawaii, South Africa, India, Bolivia, Philippines
Global Health Internships provide you with the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations and public health experiences while being immersed in a local community. Students intern for 30-35 hours per week at one of seven specialized global health program sites. There will be 24/7 on-site support from our trusted program provider, Child Family Health International (CFHI).

Learn about urban and rural healthcare systems through NGO site visits in Delhi and clinical rotations in the Himalayan foothills, which provide insight on primary care, preventative medicine, and the urban-rural divide.

Learn about healthcare challenges villages encounter and the importance of preventative medicine. Rotate at community clinics and interact with healthcare providers and patients, while learning about the link between clinical medicine and public health.

Participate in clinical rotations in the heartland of Zulu culture, in a dynamic beach city. Join local   healthcare teams serving a large teaching hospital, and learn about the impact HIV/AIDS has on the community.

Mexico - Latino/a Health Internship (Oaxaca)<http://bit.ly/qa_mexico> (Fall Quarter 2018)
Open to students at other UCs via the ICV process.
Gain a better understanding of your health profession career goals while taking classes on transnational (US-Mexico) health issues. Participate in approximately 180 hours of clinical rotations through internships in hospitals and clinics in Oaxaca.
