Diabetes Technology Society is proud to present the world's first Student Diabetes Technology Meeting. The goal of this student meeting is to cover topics of importance in the field of diabetes technology and to encourage students to work in these areas. This meeting will address the topics of Fluorescent Detection of Glucose With Boronic Acid-Based Probes, MEMS Technology for Diabetes Monitoring and Therapy, Insulin Delivery Devices, Telemedicine to Prevent Diabetic Eye Disease, Algorithms for Closed Loop Control, Closed Loop Control of Diabetes, Closed Loop Control in the Outpatient Setting, Electronic Medical Record for Diabetes, Nutrition Technology for Diabetes, Nutrigenomics and Type 2 Diabetes, Elephant Seal Metabolism as a Model for Type 2 Diabetes, and Encapsulated Islet Cells as a Cure.

 

This meeting will bring together faculty and students from (in alphabetical order) Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced, UC San Francisco, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz. The attendees will be Graduate and Undergraduate students interested in learning about glucose monitoring, drug delivery, artificial pancreas, telemedicine, electronic medical record, nutrition, genomics, physiology, and tissue engineering. 

 

The meeting will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City, California. Deadline for free registration is March 15, 2008. For more information and to register for this meeting visit:
