Hello all,

We have been notified that our speaker this week, Evelyn Valdez-Ward, is in experiencing the crises in Texas and we send out to Evelyn and those in the region our support and regards for the safety and wellbeing of all.

We have decided to hold Enviro-lunch this week in solidarity to have an impromptu, open discussion about global “weirding” and climate crises, response (lack of), and injustice. We will start with a news bit (you can find from Asmeret’s Twitter thread here<https://twitter.com/leahstokes/status/1363649141218271232?s=20>) featuring Dr. Katharine Hayhoe discussing climate “weirding” and the situation in Texas and invite all to join us as we consider our role as scientists and citizens in these contexts. You can check out more about global weirding in Dr. Kayhoe’s Youtube channel<https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi6RkdaEqgRVKi3AzidF4ow> discussing the topic via animation.  If you have resources to share please reply and we can offer them in our impromptu session. Should Evelyn join us, we welcome the space for her talk. We hope everyone is safe as possible.
