Title: "Salmonella's Trojan Horse Strategy to Evade Antimicrobial Stress?”

Bio:

[cid:6fe489d4-9a13-4af5-94b0-4dab8c5660db]

Govind decided to become a food microbiologist after reading “Toxin” by Robin Cook. His undergraduate and graduate training as a microbiologist provided him the opportunity to work with foodborne pathogens ranging from Vibrio cholerae to Salmonella Typhi. He got his MS and PhD in food Science at Virginia Tech where he focused on Salmonella internalization in tomatoes. He studied the survival and persistence of foodborne pathogens on produce and food production environments during his postdoctoral stints at the University of Arizona and the University of Maryland. At the University of Georgia, Govind’s research interests include the development of micelle-based antimicrobials, studying bacterial stress and stress adaptations. The members of his lab consist of a lab technician, 2 doctoral students and a masters student.

Best Regards,

KJ, Manisha, and Anna
