Dear all,
Please support our community in Earth and environmental sciences by attending our weekly events. This week's speaker in our Enviro-lunch brown bag seminar series will be:
Mathew Jian
(Ghezzehei lab)
Mechanism of exposing physically-protected soil organic carbon to decomposition by breakdown of soil aggregates during low-intensity burns
Moist soil aggregates have previously been shown to degrade when exposed to rapid temperature rise during low-intensity burns. This is due to stress that is applied to soil aggregates by rapidly vaporized water within the soil aggregates. In this study, I explore how breakup of soil aggregates by such mechanism may expose previously physically protected soil organic carbon to decomposition.
Where: SE2-302
When: Thursday (May 4th, from 12-1:30PM)
We look forward to seeing you,
