[Digital_humanities] New database: Planet Labs

Good morning folks,

I wanted to share information on behalf of our UCSB DREAM Lab Director
about a new resource we acquired. In other DH news, I have been posting to
the Social Sciences CKG because I only recently joined this CKG.

I'm excited to announce Planet Labs. A continuously growing database of
earth-wide (well, the land and coastal bits) satellite images.

The DREAM Lab is mediating access to this resource via a Google form. It
works on a complicated quota model that 90% of the users won't ever have
to worry about. 10% of the users will interact with the system via an API.

We already have 96 users!
